4-H & Friends Horsin' Around Fun Day was held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at McPherson Quarter Horse Arena in Bristol, TN.  Fun Day gave local 4-H youth who do not have horses of their own an opportunity for hands on experience with horses, allowed 4-H youth with horses a change of pace from competition, and gave TSAHA an excellent opportunity to promote the Arabian breed. We had fun with our beautiful Arabians!

Tri-State Arabian Horse Association members brought enough horses to this event to provide a horse for every "horseless" youth in the event.  The safety and basic horse handling lessons taught by TSAHA members were well received by both the inexperienced and experienced riders, and the lessons served as a good reminder for all of the adults, too.  The Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, Jumping, Driving, Country Pleasure, and Native Arabian Costume demonstrations performed by TSAHA members and their horses were entertaining as well as educational.  In addition to these demonstrations, a TSAHA member talked to the youth about her experiences in endurance riding.  Fun Day will be remembered by many, whether by an 8 year old girl, who for one day had the opportunity to be surrounded by horses and the people who love them, or a youth rider and her horse just having fun participating in the games on horseback, or by a TSAHA member who spent the day working hard to make this a successful event.  It was a memorable day for these kids who dream of riding a horse, and they are still asking when TSAHA can do this again !
